Description

YuzuLingo is a browser extension for people learning a language from real video. A lot of shows and clips burn the subtitles into the picture. You cannot select that text, you cannot turn it off, and dictionary tools that need a subtitle file have nothing to read. You draw a zone over the subtitle band. It stays locked to the player on YouTube, Bilibili, and other web video. Cover hides the line with a blur or a solid block, so you can listen first and reveal the words when you want them.

Could you build this?

Yes It can be built as a Chrome extension using the Canvas API to crop video frames and in-browser OCR (such as Tesseract.js) hooked up to a dictionary/translation API.
