Frequently asked questions
What is Nicheloom?
Nicheloom tracks 33,000+ product launches from Y Combinator, Product Hunt, Hacker News, and GitHub Trending, groups them into themes, and scores each theme on momentum vs. crowding -- so you can see what's gaining traction before it's crowded.
Is Nicheloom free to use?
Yes. Every page -- Themes, Gaps, Matrix, Search, and the rest -- is free to browse.
Where does the data come from?
Public launch listings from Y Combinator, Product Hunt, Hacker News, and GitHub Trending. It's supply-side data -- what builders shipped and how much attention it got -- not a measure of real demand, willingness to pay, or market size.
How often is the data updated?
Twice daily. A nightly pipeline ingests new launches and refreshes every score on the site.
What does the opportunity score mean?
A blend of four signals: attention (how much traction a theme's launches got), low crowding (how few competitors are active), momentum (growth vs. the prior window), and low concentration (varied approaches, not copies). Higher means more worth a closer look.
What's a gap on the Gaps page?
A vertical x function cell that's nearly empty relative to how busy its row or column is everywhere else -- a quiet cell inside an otherwise active neighborhood, not just a quiet category in isolation.
What does vibe-codeable mean?
Our own classification of whether a launch looks buildable with an AI coding tool (Cursor, Bolt.new, v0, and similar) in a weekend, based on its apparent scope and complexity -- not a guarantee, a starting signal.
Does a high opportunity score guarantee a good business?
No. It's a shortlist signal -- a theme worth investigating further, not a validated business model. Every view on Nicheloom is a starting point, never a verdict.
How do I advertise on Nicheloom?
Visit the Advertise page in the site footer -- sponsor slots are self-serve and rotate across every page.
Is there a newsletter?
Yes -- a free daily digest of the day's top launches, news, and a weekly opportunity spotlight. Sign up from the Newsletter page.
