Description

Hi, so i'm making a 2D game engine with its own IDE and interpreted programming language, all are written in C# It's open source, and I'm looking for contributors! The backend engine is MonoGame, the IDE is WinForms and the project is real, not just another AI-slop... Please check it out, i promise it's an unusual thing! Here's a YouTube video showing me using the engine for making a little cute game: https://youtu.be/h_AnUg4yJWs?si=MR3nQCVvOMDP3iqgAny feedback is welcome!

Could you build this?

No Writing a custom interpreted programming language (lexer, parser, AST/bytecode interpreter) alongside an IDE and game engine backend requires substantial classical computer science compiler and graphics architecture expertise.

What it would actually take: The stack involves C# on top of MonoGame for graphics/audio/input handling, WinForms/WPF for the IDE UI, and a handwritten lexer/parser/evaluator for the scripting language. The hard parts are language design, runtime error handling, memory lifecycle between the game loop and interpreter, and tooling like step debugging. This requires deep domain knowledge in language engineering and desktop application architecture.
