Partial The UI and open-source code are approachable, but a safe face-unlock for a Mac's lock screen depends on macOS security internals (LocalAuthentication, Keychain, and lock-screen hooks) and face-recognition robustness, where mistakes are security-critical.
What it would actually take: The app would be a Swift macOS app using Apple's Vision framework for on-device face embeddings, with the Keychain holding credentials and the password kept as fallback. The hard parts are integrating safely with the login window and lock screen, resisting spoofing such as photos, and getting reliable accuracy across lighting conditions. This calls for macOS security engineering experience and an independent security review before anyone should trust it with access control.
