Description

Minimal multi-board LED blinker that builds with Yosys (and open tools) and ships ready-to-flash images in GitHub Releases. It is a foray into building Flash Devices across many different boards. While doing so, it was discovered that many older Spartan Boards, UltraScale+ Boards and Cyclone Boards require better flow to bit synthesis support. Are there other tools I can start using to make this a better template repo for many hardware projects?

Could you build this?

No This project requires hardware digital circuit design (Verilog/VHDL), deep understanding of FPGA toolchains (Yosys, nextpnr), pin constraints, and bitstream formats across multiple hardware vendors.

What it would actually take: Building multi-FPGA toolchains requires hardware description language (HDL) development, board-specific constraint files (.xdc, .pcf, .lpf), open-source synthesis tools (Yosys, nextpnr, trellis, prjtrellis, openFPGALoader), and automated GitHub Actions runners. The core difficulty lies in low-level hardware debugging, timing closure, and reverse-engineered bitstream specifications for diverse FPGA silicon architectures.
