Description

DBine is a free desktop database manager for 130 SQL and NoSQL engines: SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB, Snowflake, Redis and more. One app to query, design, compare, migrate and monitor: a live profiler on any engine, schema and data compare across engines, visual execution plans, and an AI assistant that writes queries but never runs them. It also works as a local MCP server with per-connection access levels and approval for every write. Windows, macOS and Linux.

Could you build this?

No Supporting 130 database engines with cross-engine schema migration, visual execution plans, and live profiling requires deep, specialized systems knowledge across hundreds of proprietary and open-source database drivers and protocols.

What it would actually take: Would require building an Electron or native C++/Rust desktop client with a universal driver architecture abstracting ODBC, JDBC, and native wire protocols. The team must implement engine-specific AST parsers for execution plans, profilers, and schema introspection across 130 completely different SQL and NoSQL engines, demanding extensive database internal expertise.
