Could you build this?
Partial Building a macOS menu bar app that integrates with Apple Reminders via EventKit is straightforward, but detecting physical knocks on the laptop body requires low-level sensor access and vibration DSP.
What it would actually take: The core app is a native Swift macOS menu extra interacting with EventKit for task management. The hard part is reading raw accelerometer data via undocumented IOKit/HID interfaces or private CoreMotion APIs on Apple Silicon and running digital signal processing (bandpass filtering and peak detection) to reliably identify distinct knuckle knocks while rejecting typing, trackpad clicks, and movement.
