Description

FinderBack is a small macOS utility that adds Back and Forward navigation directly to Finder’s right-click menu. I built it because I wanted faster folder navigation without constantly moving back to Finder’s toolbar. The source is available on GitHub, and there’s also a ready-to-run download for $9.99.

Could you build this?

No Modifying or injecting custom items into macOS Finder's native context menus requires low-level macOS system APIs (FinderSync extensions, accessibility APIs, or code injection) and reverse-engineering private Apple APIs.

What it would actually take: A real implementation requires Swift/Objective-C using either the FinderSync extension framework or Mach message hooking/swizzling via an app bundle. The developer needs deep macOS internals knowledge, Apple developer certificates, and handling of macOS System Integrity Protection (SIP) and hardened runtime requirements.
