Description

Korr fixes French, English, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese right where you write: no account, no limit, no connection needed. Everything runs on your device. There is no analysis server, and you can check it: cut your connection after the first load and it keeps working. Every change is listed and can be rejected one by one. When a fix is uncertain, Korr changes nothing. Website and Chrome extension (Alt+Shift+C) for all five languages; Windows app (Ctrl+Alt+C) for French and English.

Could you build this?

Partial A basic UI wrapper is simple, but compiling and running an accurate offline, multi-language grammar checker in-browser/on-device requires specialized WASM compilation and model quantization.

What it would actually take: The architecture requires compiling an established NLP engine (such as LanguageTool or quantized small transformer models) to WebAssembly via Rust or C++, running inside a Web Worker. The critical difficulty is maintaining low memory usage (<150MB) and fast keystroke latency across five languages while packaging large rule/dictionary databases directly into client-side bundles. This requires expertise in WebAssembly performance tuning, client-side memory management, and computational linguistics.
