Description

Hot Desk gives each AI agent its own local Linux desktop. The home directory and Chromium profile persist, so a site you sign into once stays signed in for later sessions. Your agent connects over MCP and receives the browser, computer and workspace tools directly, with no tokens and no model API key in the config. When it gets stuck on a login or a CAPTCHA, you open the viewer, take over the same desktop, then hand control back. Runs on Docker on your own machine. MIT licensed.

Could you build this?

Partial Integrating an MCP server with headless browser controls is vibe-codeable, but orchestrating isolated, persistent local Linux desktop containers with smooth human takeover (VNC/WebRTC) is non-trivial systems work.

What it would actually take: The system requires Docker or lightweight VM (Firecracker/gVisor) orchestration to spin up sandboxed Linux environments running X11/Wayland with Chromium profiles. It exposes an MCP interface mapped to system automation (xdotool, CDP) and streams video/input to a browser client using WebRTC or websockets with noVNC for low-latency human takeover. The hardest parts are clean host-level isolation, reliable clipboard/input syncing, and session persistence without state leakage.
