Dock

Isolated Linux machines for AI agents, on your own hardware

Read the full description

Dock gives each AI agent its own Linux VM with a persistent disk. Create it, run commands, stop it (the disk stays, compute is freed), resume it with the same files, or branch it into copies so several agents can try fixes in parallel. Run docks locally with no account (QEMU on Linux or Windows), or self-host the open source control plane with one command. Hosts run Firecracker microVMs or gVisor sandboxes and only connect outbound. CLI plus TypeScript, Python and Go SDKs.

Could you build this?

Partial The control plane, CLI, and API for create, stop, resume, and branch are vibe-codeable. Reliable VM orchestration with copy-on-write disk branching and secure isolation across QEMU on Linux and Windows is the hard part.

What it would actually take: Build a CLI and daemon that manage QEMU/KVM (and WHPX/HAX on Windows) VMs, with qcow2 overlay disks for persistent storage and branching, plus snapshot and resume logic. The hard parts are cross-platform hypervisor integration, disk-state consistency, and sandbox security. That calls for virtualization and systems engineering experience.
