Markdown editors and viewers provide dedicated environments for writing, rendering, and organizing plain-text documentation and notes. They are designed for developers, technical writers, and researchers who value lightweight formatting, keyboard-driven workflows, and platform portability. Unlike full-suite rich-text word processors or proprietary knowledge bases, these tools emphasize local file ownership, fast syntax previews, and distraction-free plain-text editing.
