Could you build this?
Partial The menu and actions are easy, but detecting palm-rest taps on a Mac relies on low-level accelerometer signals that are not exposed through a public API.
What it would actually take: Build a native macOS menu-bar app that reads the built-in motion sensor via IOKit HID (as prior projects have done on Apple Silicon), then applies signal processing to detect tap patterns and maps them to actions. The hard part is reliable tap classification with low false positives and maintaining it across hardware and OS updates, which requires embedded/signal-processing skill.
