Could you build this?
Partial The shell UI and widgets are vibe-codeable, but a real Linux shell in Rust on GPUI requires low-level Wayland compositor integration and GPU rendering knowledge that AI assistants handle poorly.
What it would actually take: The stack is Rust with the GPUI toolkit, talking to compositor IPC for Hyprland, Niri, and Mango (wlr/ext protocols, workspace and window events, layer-shell surfaces). The hard parts are compositor-specific integration, GPU rendering performance, and memory discipline, which call for a developer experienced with Wayland and Rust systems programming, plus extensive testing on each compositor.
