Partial Browser-side PDF table extraction and export to XLSX, CSV, QBO, and Xero are buildable, but reliable parsing across many bank layouts and accurate tax categorization need a large corpus of statement samples and maintained per-bank rules.
What it would actually take: Use pdf.js or a similar parser in the browser, with a rules engine plus ML fallback for each bank's layout, and SheetJS and QBO/OFX writers for export. The hard part is collecting and maintaining parsers for hundreds of bank formats and validating them against real statements. Tax categorization also needs accountant-reviewed rules for IRS and HMRC treatment.
