Partial A classic-style contact list and chat UI is easy to vibe-code, but encrypted messaging, file transfer, and A/V calls need real-time infrastructure and careful crypto.
What it would actually take: A real version needs a presence and message relay server, end-to-end encryption with a vetted protocol such as Signal's or a well-reviewed custom scheme, and WebRTC or similar for voice and video. NAT traversal and TURN relays add infrastructure cost. The hard parts are cryptographic correctness and reliable real-time media, which call for engineers experienced in secure messaging and RTC.
