Read the full description
Parrot is a free, open-source meeting recorder for Mac that helps during the call, not after it. No bot joins: it records what your Mac hears and transcribes on device. When a client asks something your pricing sheet or FAQ covers, the answer appears with the file it came from. After the call you get a report of promises made and questions missed, and you can chat with all your meetings. Use Claude, a free local model with Ollama, or your own server. No account, no subscription.

Partial Building a macOS native app with screen/audio capture, on-device Whisper transcription, and real-time RAG retrieval without high latency requires tricky systems programming.
What it would actually take: A production version requires a Swift/macOS application integrating CoreAudio (ScreenCaptureKit/BlackHole virtual device) for system audio routing, localized Whisper.cpp or CoreML model execution for low-latency on-device transcription, and an embedded vector store (e.g. SQLite-vec) for real-time semantic search over local documents. The primary hurdles are audio stream management, battery/CPU optimization during live calls, and sub-second RAG response times.
