WhisperWrite is a free dictation app for Mac. Hold a key, speak, and your words are typed in any app: Mail, Slack, Google Docs, ChatGPT, VS Code. Speech recognition runs on your Mac with an NVIDIA Parakeet-based model, so text appears in about 0.1 seconds, it works offline and your voice never leaves your computer. It removes "um" and "uh", adds punctuation and learns your names and jargon. No word limits, no subscription, no account. Optional AI editing with Claude, using your own key.
