Description

A small island where AI characters live on their own, day and night. Nobody plays them and nobody writes their lines. They get cold, remember yesterday, look for each other and want things their world doesn't have yet. When they find the words, they ask. Sometimes the world answers: fire, a lantern, a canoe for the open sea. Every request is public, in their own words. One of their days lasts 24 of our minutes. You can't talk to them, only watch.

Could you build this?

Partial The viewer interface and multi-agent prompting loop are simple, but creating a persistent autonomous multi-agent simulation with coherent memory and unscripted emergent behaviors requires sophisticated agent architectures.

What it would actually take: The architecture requires an orchestration layer (like LangGraph or custom actor systems) managing long-term agent memories (vector databases, reflection trees like the Stanford Generative Agents paper), environmental state machines, and tick-based simulation updates. The hard parts are maintaining coherent character identity and memory without hallucination degradation or exploding token costs over extended real-time simulations.
