Description

Peeku is personalized to your actual pet. Scan any barcode and the answer weighs their age, weight, breed, allergies and conditions. A senior Labrador with a chicken allergy gets a different answer than a healthy puppy. It reads human food too, so you can check what's on your counter before they reach it. The same profile drives the Advisor, so "can he eat rice?" is answered for your dog, not dogs. Plus care reminders for meals, meds, vaccines and vet visits, and homemade recipes.

Could you build this?

Partial The barcode scanning and LLM assessment are easy to vibe code, but matching ingredients against an accurate, exhaustive pet food/UPC database and cross-referencing veterinary toxicology data is a hard data problem.

What it would actually take: A production version requires licensing commercial UPC/barcode product databases (or scraping Open Food Facts / USDA databases) and mapping millions of human and pet ingredients. Crucially, evaluating safety requires an authoritative veterinary toxicology ontology to prevent dangerous false negatives. The technical stack involves a mobile camera barcode scanner (ML Kit), a vector/relational database matching barcodes to parsed ingredient lists, and an LLM pipeline heavily constrained by domain rule sets.
