Description
DubFlow dubs any YouTube video into your language while it plays, inside the player itself. It reads the video's captions, translates them, and speaks them with a natural AI voice timed to the picture. The original audio drops to about five percent underneath, so music and room tone stay. Nine languages, female and male preset voices, no voice cloning, optional floating translated subtitles. Free plan: three videos a day, up to three hours each, no card needed.

Could you build this?
Partial Building a browser extension that intercepts video audio is straightforward, but real-time translation, synchronized TTS synthesis, audio ducking, and timing adjustments in the browser require tight media stream management.
What it would actually take: Requires a Chrome extension injecting scripts into the YouTube player to hook Web Audio API nodes for audio separation and ducking. The extension must extract live timed caption tracks, pipeline them to a fast translation API, and feed text into an ultra-low-latency streaming TTS engine (e.g., Cartesia or ElevenLabs WebSocket). The primary engineering hurdle is real-time timestamp alignment and dynamic audio playback rate adjustment to prevent dubbed speech from drifting out of sync with video playback.
