Description

FileSlim is a free, browser-only compressor for images, PDFs, Office documents, SVG, and audio. Drop a file in. Compression runs on your device with WebAssembly. Nothing is uploaded to FileSlim. No account, no API key. Also included: batch compression, local PDF tools, and an MIT JavaScript SDK (npm install @fileslim/compress). Built so private school and work documents do not have to pass through an unknown upload server.

Could you build this?

Yes Pre-existing open-source WebAssembly ports exist for image (mozjpeg, oxipng), PDF (pdf-lib, ghostscript WASM), and audio (ffmpeg.wasm) compression, allowing a solo developer to assemble a browser-only tool easily.
