NetCurb helps you control data use on your Mac, especially on phone hotspots and capped connections. I burned through 1GB of data while I was travelling because some Mac process decided to update something. This app helps prevent that from happening. See per-app uploads and downloads, block background apps, and set data allowances for home, work, or travel. Free includes monitoring, unlimited manual blocking, usage history, CSV export, and limits for one app.
