Description

We are building a catalog of SaaS services that will be offered at-cost. At-cost means services are priced at the operating cost divided by the number of users, so every new user lowers the price for all. A one-time membership fee grants access to the full catalog for life. By removing the profit-motive from the services themselves, we can skip all the ARR-maximizing BS and focus on just delivering great products.

Could you build this?

Partial The marketing site, membership billing, and accounting dashboard are easy to vibe code, but the product involves hosting and operating a multi-tenant suite of open-source SaaS software at production scale.

What it would actually take: The frontend and billing can be built on standard stacks like Next.js and Stripe, but the backend requires automated multi-tenant infrastructure orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker, automated provisioning via Terraform or Nomad) to spin up and maintain instances of various open-source SaaS tools reliably. A platform/DevOps engineer is needed to manage server reliability, data backups, isolation, and cost attribution across users.
