Description

nBox is a Chrome extension that replaces the LinkedIn and X message UIs with one list. Search every conversation, see what still needs a reply, snooze the rest, and keep labels on the threads that matter. Your message history stays in the browser. nBox does NOT upload the inbox, send messages for you, or run LinkedIn or X actions in the background. Optional reply drafts exist. They run only on the open thread and stay off until you turn them on.

Could you build this?

Partial While a Chrome extension UI is easy to build, reverse-engineering and maintaining DOM scrapers or internal private APIs for both LinkedIn and X messaging without official API support is fragile and prone to frequent breakage and bot bans.

What it would actually take: The architecture requires a Chrome Extension (Manifest V3) that injects content scripts or intercepts internal network requests on linkedin.com and x.com. Because neither platform offers free, open public APIs for private messaging, the developer must reverse-engineer proprietary GraphQL/REST endpoints and session authentication cookies. Maintaining this against bot-detection heuristics and frequent UI/payload changes requires constant maintenance and reverse-engineering expertise.
