Description

RUUN is a Tor Browser-based browser built around one simple idea: stop switching between browsers. It gives you two completely separate modes — Tor Mode for Tor-routed, hardened browsing and Direct Mode for normal persistent browsing with its own profile, cookies, bookmarks, logins, and history. RUUN also brings back a classic early-web UI instead of another modern browser interface.

Could you build this?

No Developing and securely maintaining a custom fork of Firefox/Chromium and Tor Browser requires deep systems programming, browser engine internals expertise, and rigorous security auditing.

What it would actually take: Building this requires maintaining a fork of the Mozilla/Tor Browser codebase in C++ and Rust, ensuring Tor's anti-fingerprinting patches remain compatible while isolating process sandboxes, network sockets, DNS routing, and state storage between Tor and Direct modes. Any minor architectural mistake leaks real IP addresses or deanonymizes the user, demanding elite browser security engineers and substantial build infrastructure.
