Description

Radarr, Sonarr, Lidarr, Prowlarr, Bazarr and qBittorrent each have their own UI, none of which plays a file or knows who's watching. virtuallyView sits on top of all of them: one search/request flow, a player that converts what your browser can't play, per-person accounts, and casting (Chromecast/AirPlay/DLNA) with no third-party account. One docker compose command sets up the whole stack, wired together automatically. MIT licensed, no telemetry.

Could you build this?

Partial Aggregating the APIs of the *arr suite (Radarr, Sonarr, etc.) into a web UI is very doable, but handling on-the-fly video transcoding and cross-platform casting requires robust media server engineering.

What it would actually take: While unifying *arr REST APIs is simple, the player and conversion component requires integrating FFmpeg for dynamic HLS/DASH video packaging and hardware-accelerated transcoding (NVENC/VAAPI) to handle unsupported browser codecs. Managing audio track mapping, subtitle extraction, and casting protocols (Chromecast/AirPlay) demands specialized media streaming pipeline experience.
