Description

I kept obsessively checking Google Flights hoping prices would drop. So I built Descent, set a budget for any route, and get alerted the moment fares go below it. It tracks business/economy class, direct flights, multiple currencies, and passenger count. The fun part: Descent Copilot lets you create alerts by just saying “Cheap flights to Tokyo in August under 150 euros”, powered by Apple Intelligence, fully on-device. Free to try. Would love your feedback!

Could you build this?

Partial The user-facing alert UI and copilot are simple, but reliably scraping or querying real-time flight pricing across routes requires expensive GDS/flight API access or anti-bot bypass infrastructure.

What it would actually take: A production version requires integrating with flight aggregation APIs like Amadeus, Duffel, or Skyscanner, or running a resilient headless browser scraping cluster capable of evading Google Flights / airline anti-scraping defenses. The backend needs a scheduled distributed worker queue (Celery/Temporal) to poll flight matrix searches frequently without blowing rate limits or budget.
