Description

CueMap is an open-source memory engine for AI agents, built in Rust. It combines deterministic lexical and structural recall with a customized local MiniLM reranker—no external model calls required. At 1M memories, average reads take 2.63ms lexical or 8.36ms hybrid. Raw Hit@20 reaches 96.2% on LongMemEval, 96.1% on LoCoMo, 80.3% on BEAM 1M, and 67.0% on BEAM 10M. Use it through MCP, Python/TypeScript SDKs, Docker, or CLI, with source-backed results and inspectable traces.

Could you build this?

No Building an ultra-fast, embedded local vector/lexical retrieval engine in Rust with sub-10ms hybrid latencies and custom rerankers requires deep systems programming and information retrieval expertise.

What it would actually take: The core requires a high-performance Rust library implementing BM25/lexical indexing, an HNSW or inverted file vector index, and an embedded ONNX runtime for MiniLM inference without memory leaks or garbage collection pauses. Optimizing cache coherence, lock-free concurrency, and SIMD vector math to achieve predictable sub-8ms retrieval at 1M documents necessitates veteran systems and search infrastructure engineers.
