Could you build this?

Partial A basic text editor with formatting is straightforward, but real-time collaborative editing tailored specifically to strict industry-standard screenplay pagination and formatting rules is notoriously difficult.

What it would actually take: Requires an editor engine implementing CRDTs (like Yjs or Automerge) over WebSockets paired with a pagination engine that strictly enforces Courier 12pt standard screenplay page-budgeting rules in real time across concurrent typers. It also requires custom AST parsers and serializers for bidirectional conversion between Fountain, Final Draft (.fdx XML), and the internal document model. The core difficulty is maintaining seamless multi-user conflict resolution while strictly preserving exact physical page breaks and script layout standards.
