Description

FFF is a photography and diary tool that recreates the feeling of drawing on a misted window. Import any photo and the glass fogs over. Realistic waterdrops slowly slide down the screen while you scribble, write, or doodle on top. Save the result as a high-definition image or a Live Photo. It is for the late-night car window, the childhood bedroom pane, and the corner of a foggy bathroom mirror. Watching the drops move gives a small, physical sense of time passing through the photo.

Could you build this?

Partial Basic image drawing is simple, but realistic real-time water drop physics, surface tension simulations, and dynamic glass condensation shaders require specialized graphics programming.

What it would actually take: Building this requires custom Metal or GLSL fragment shaders implementing fluid physics simulations for droplet gravity, coalescence, and refractive light distortion over a blurred background layer. It also requires native iOS integration with AVFoundation to composite these dynamic simulations into exportable Live Photos.
