Description

OmniDesk keeps your own computers in sync without touching the cloud. Copy on one machine, paste on another instantly. Drag a file onto a paired device and it lands in seconds — no size limits, nothing uploaded to a server. Devices find each other via mDNS and pair with a one-time 6-digit PIN, no accounts needed. Written in Go, MIT licensed. Next on the roadmap: cross-OS mouse & keyboard control, so one keyboard and mouse can drive your Mac, Windows and Linux machines like a single desk.

Could you build this?

Yes Local peer discovery via mDNS, PIN-based pairing, socket file streaming, and OS clipboard monitoring can be implemented using desktop frameworks like Tauri or Electron with standard libraries.
