Best Day to Launch on Product Hunt? Odds by Weekday From 34,000 Launches
October 25, 2026 · Nicheloom
If you are choosing a day to launch on Product Hunt, you want to know which day gives a normal launch the best chance of getting noticed.
The short answer: in our data, Friday gave the best odds (6.5% of launches reached 10 or more upvotes, against 4.7% across all days), and Saturday gave the worst (3.5%). Tuesday is the busiest day, with about 1,180 launches, so it is also the most crowded.
These numbers come from 34,668 Product Hunt launches across 39 complete days (September 14 to October 22, 2026), tracked daily by Nicheloom. The sample is under six weeks, so read the differences as hints, not laws. The last section lists the limits.

| Wednesday | 979 | 4.5% | 3.4% | 1.1% | 3.1% |
| Thursday | 971 | 4.6% | 3.4% | 1.1% | 2.9% |
| Friday | 939 | 6.5% | 5.7% | 1.4% | 3.7% |
| Saturday | 754 | 3.5% | 2.8% | 1.1% | 2.5% |
| Sunday | 575 | 4.7% | 3.6% | 1.4% | 3.1% |
| All days | 889 | 4.7% | 3.5% | 1.2% | 2.8% |
"Reached 10+ upvotes" is the share of that day's launches whose upvote count was 10 or higher. Most launches get almost nothing, so crossing 10 is what a launch that gets noticed looks like.
Which day gives a launch the best odds?
Friday. On Friday, 6.5% of launches reached 10 upvotes, about one and a half times Monday's 4.1% and nearly double Saturday's 3.5%. Product Hunt also featured a higher share of Friday launches (3.7%), and about 35 launches a day were featured, the most of any weekday.
How reliable is that? We had only five Fridays in the window. Looking at each Friday on its own, four of the five were above the overall 4.7%, and the other one matched it. The first two Fridays were strong (8.0% and 8.1%), and the later three were lower (4.7%, 5.7% and 5.1%). So Friday has led throughout, but its lead shrank. Treat it as "Friday looks good", not "Friday is magic".
Which day is the worst?
Saturday. Only 3.5% of launches reached 10 upvotes, and the featured share was low (2.5%, with about 19 featured launches a day against 35 on Friday). In the first half of the window Saturday was even lower (3.1%); in the second half it improved to 4.1%. Only one of the five Saturdays beat the overall average.
Is the busiest day the best day?
No. Tuesday had the most launches (about 1,180 a day, about a third more than the average day) and a middling 4.9% reaching 10 upvotes. Being busier did not help the typical launch. If you want the biggest possible audience, a crowded midweek day can still make sense, because its top launches are the biggest (see below), but a typical launch faces more competition there.
Sunday is a quiet bargain. It had the fewest launches (about 575 a day), but 4.7% reached 10 upvotes, the same as the all-day average, and 1.4% reached 100 upvotes, tied for the best. Fewer rivals did not mean fewer upvotes.
How does this fit with the "top of the board" data?
Our earlier post on how many upvotes you need on Product Hunt looked at the very top of each day and found that Tuesday and Wednesday produce the biggest winners, with the top launch around 585 upvotes. This post asks a different question: what are the odds for an ordinary launch? Both can be true. Midweek has the largest prizes and the toughest field. Friday has the best chance that a normal launch gets traction.
Which day should you pick?
- If you want your launch noticed at all (10+ upvotes): Friday looked best in our data, and Saturday worst.
- If you want a rank at the top of the board: midweek has the biggest winners, but you need about 100 to 350 upvotes to stand out there.
- If you want fewer competitors: Sunday and Saturday had the fewest launches. Sunday's odds were average, Saturday's were weak.
- Whatever the day, a launch with no audience behind it still tends to get 1 upvote. Day choice shifts the odds a little. Your own list and your first hour matter more.
What this cannot tell you
- It is not proof of cause. Better products may prefer certain days, or well-prepared founders may pick Friday. We only see outcomes, not reasons.
- The window is short. About 5.5 weeks, with 5 to 6 examples of each weekday. One strong day can move a weekday's average. For example, one Tuesday had 8.7% reaching 10 upvotes and another had 2.8%.
- It covers all submissions, including many that Product Hunt never featured. About 2.8% were featured, which differs a little from the 3.8% in our earlier post because that one counted a different window.
- Upvotes are not customers. We see attention, not signups or revenue.
- Votes are counted soon after launch. Final totals are slightly higher, and we stopped at October 22 so recent days are not undercounted.
How we counted
- Source: Product Hunt's public API, collected by Nicheloom on a daily schedule.
- Sample: 34,668 launches on 39 complete days, September 14 to October 22, 2026. Launches that look like spam or bait are removed.
- Weekday: the launch date recorded for each launch. There were six Mondays through Thursdays and five Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
- Rates: for each weekday, launches reaching the stated upvote count divided by all launches that weekday.
- Featured: a launch counts as featured if Product Hunt reported a featured date for it.
