Products in this niche modify and personalize operating system interfaces, allowing users to customize taskbars, docks, start menus, multi-monitor setups, and visual effects. They are designed for power users, developers, and visual tinkerers who want granular control over their desktop layout and appearance. Unlike general system maintenance or productivity apps, these tools focus directly on altering and extending the graphical shell of the desktop environment.
