AI API gateways and proxies serve as an intermediary control layer between applications and LLM providers, built for developers and platform teams running production AI workflows. These tools handle dynamic model routing, rate limiting, caching, and PII redaction across diverse model endpoints. Unlike general-purpose API gateways, they specialize in AI-specific operational needs such as token-based cost tracking, prompt observability, and multi-provider failover.

This theme's recent-window count is below the current min-count filter, so it does not appear in the opportunity scorecard.
