Description

Most color palettes collapse if you've got a strong redshift/nightshift color filter actively suppressing green and blue channels. I made one that doesn't.Ember has terminal, chart, heatmap, and UI palettes designed and tested to be as distinguishable as possible under both the redshift & non-redshift condition... so no more duplicate color appearances (or worse yet, disappearing colors!).

Could you build this?

Yes This is a curated collection of color palettes optimized for redshift/nightshift filters, requiring mostly design choices, CSS/theme definitions, and a simple showcase site.

Discussion

20 comments analyzed.

Competitors mentioned: Warm Burnout, Nightshift/Redshift features (OS-level), f.lux

Concerns raised: README documentation unclear and AI-generated, hard to read, Naming collision with 'redshift' from physics vs OS features, May not work well with actual physical redshift (frequency multiplication vs dimming), Confusing what the project is actually intended for

Feature requests: Add example webpages with live demos showing color palettes in action, Improve README with clearer narrative and human touch, Add table of contents for better navigation

Attention rank: #2 of 51 (itself plus its competitors, highest first — normalized so YC and Product Hunt are compared fairly).
