Description

Models are referred to as 'spiky' entities - they have relative strengths and weaknesses.Model map visualizes these strengths and weaknesses in 3D and give you the ability to fly around this 3D space (there is a hidden Star Wars themed mini game for pilots brave enough to try).Spikiness is an intuitive mental model but the typical way of visualizing this spikiness is a generic table. Is this useful? Maybe? Is it fun? Yes.You should try the flight controls. Click anywhere then use WASD + mouse to fly. Shoot projectiles to explore nodes.Built on top of 3D Graph OSS library I made for visualizing KBs in 3D: https://github.com/a-funk/3dGraph

Could you build this?

Yes This is a Three.js / WebGL 3D data visualization that fetches benchmark scores from Hugging Face APIs and maps them to 3D geometry vertices with camera controls, an ideal vibe-coding project.

Discussion

7 comments analyzed.

Competitors mentioned: 3D loss landscape visualization, 3D Chernoff face visualization, Spider/radar charts

Concerns raised: Visualization doesn't actually show model strengths and weaknesses as claimed, 3D representation doesn't meaningfully convey information about non-mutually exclusive characteristics, Only shows 'best of' benchmark results instead of comprehensive performance across all tests, Page not working, Least useful multidimensional data visualization approach

Feature requests: Include benchmarks where models perform poorly, not just best results, Aggregate data from multiple benchmark sources, Use 2D spider/radar charts instead of 3D visualization, Visualize mutually exclusive model characteristics with coherent geometric representation
