Description

I asked Codex 5.6 Sol Medium to one-shot a tree-view version of The Odyssey because I wanted to familiarize myself with it before I see the film. Think of it as an interactive Cliffs Notes where you can stay high level or drill down to the source text.I used Gemma-4-26B-A4B locally to do the summarization. Codex wrote the scripts, HTML tree viewer, and babysat the summarization pipeline. Each of the Odyssey's 24 books is distilled into a paragraph. When you click a paragraph, each paragraph of the source has been distilled to one sentence. Tapping any one sentence shows you the source paragraph. The summarization prompt asked Gemma to preserve the source style or tone, so the summaries read pretty well in context with the book.See PROMPT.md for the one-shot prompt, view it live here: https://pettijohn.github.io/homer-odyssey-tree

Could you build this?

Yes The author literally one-shot the app using an LLM (Codex) and local Gemma model; it is simply a hierarchical collapsible tree UI displaying pre-generated text summaries.
