Description

I've been working with storage engines for quite a while and really there was no similar tool to sysbench and or HammerDB for key-value storage engines. Thus I introduce a POC called keybench. I hope you check it out, and do give it a run to drive your favorite engine.Cheers!

Could you build this?

Partial A basic CLI benchmark can be vibe-coded, but an extensible, high-throughput storage engine benchmark requires low-level multi-threaded C/C++/Rust systems work to measure p99 latency without introducing harness contention.

What it would actually take: Requires high-performance C/C++ or Rust harness utilizing io_uring or direct embedded C bindings (LMDB, RocksDB, LevelDB) and non-blocking actors to generate predictable IOPS loads. The difficult part is eliminating thread synchronization overhead, accurate HDR histogram recording at microsecond resolution, and reproducible deterministic access patterns across concurrent engines.
