Description

I'm a network engineer that likes to think about the future of the internet and this is what I've built over many nights and weekends. One reputation graph over IPs, ASNs, domains, and entities, exposed as a JSON API. Try it: curl https://api.tunnelmind.ai/v1/check/1.1.1.1 Every answer is a signed receipt with an attestation tier so you can see what was produced and how your agents can use it. The protocol is opensource. Try it out let me know what you think and yes I am still working on the radar section of the site. Also What would make this useful for you?

Could you build this?

No Building a global IP, ASN, and ad-tech reputation graph requires ingesting massive, continuous internet-wide telemetry, real-time BGP routing tables, crawler infrastructure, and proprietary threat intelligence data.

What it would actually take: The system requires a massive data ingestion pipeline running on Kafka/ClickHouse/Neo4j that continuously ingests BGP updates (via RouteViews/RIPE RIS), passive DNS, WHOIS records, SSL certificate transparency logs, and web crawler ad-tech graphs. The hard part is acquiring the proprietary threat telemetry, maintaining petabyte-scale graph relationship links, and computing graph centrality/reputation scores in real time while cryptographically signing responses. Building this requires experienced network security researchers, high-throughput distributed systems engineers, and significant bandwidth/crawler capital.

Discussion

11 comments analyzed.

Competitors mentioned: GreyNoise, IPinfo, IPinfo API

Concerns raised: Unclear how decisions are made to classify traffic as internet-background scanning noise, Requires substantial volume of data and intelligence sources to make accurate classifications, Reputation scoring is subjective and can introduce downsides, Limited scope even with 1400 servers, Unclear competitive advantage vs existing services like ipinfo.io

Feature requests: IPv6 support, Higher traffic handling capacity
