Partial The reading and UI layer is buildable, but high-quality offline expressive TTS on-device and music that tracks scene mood are hard to get right.
What it would actually take: Native Mac and Android apps would need on-device neural TTS models (for example, Piper or similar) packaged for offline use, plus PDF and web text extraction pipelines. The scene-aware music requires either text emotion classification or a curated music library mapped to scene cues, and syncing that with speech playback is a real engineering task. A solo builder can prototype this, but a polished version needs audio and on-device ML experience.
