Description

Having spent 20 years in video there is a few commercial tools out there but not really an open source one. Used Claude for some front end and made it easier to get my idea down.

Could you build this?

No A real-time live studio and restreaming engine requires high-performance media transcoding pipelines (WebRTC/RTMP), audio/video synchronization, and heavy video infrastructure engineering.

What it would actually take: The stack demands media servers (Mediasoup, LiveKit, or custom GStreamer/FFmpeg pipelines in C++/Go/Rust) capable of ingesting multiple WebRTC participant streams, compositing them in real time with canvas/audio mixers, and re-encoding to multiple RTMP destinations. The key hurdles are low-latency jitter buffer management, real-time video compositing under high CPU/GPU load, hardware-accelerated encoding (NVENC/VAAPI), and A/V lip-sync drift prevention. This requires deep specialized expertise in video codecs, WebRTC SFU/MCU architecture, and media server systems.
