Could you build this?
Yes This is a personal portfolio website styled to mimic Windows 95 with interactive retro mini-apps, which is purely frontend HTML/CSS/JavaScript and completely feasible with vibe coding.
Discussion
11 comments analyzed.
Competitors mentioned: macOS-themed retro UI (thisisharsh7.github.io), OpenLM (Windows UI for browser apps)
Concerns raised: Eye-straining reminder of poor software experiences, Windows 98 UI feels dated/unnecessary for modern web
Feature requests: Persistent MS Paint app for visitor drawing, Minesweeper, Solitaire, Paint, Recycle Bin apps, Blue Screen of Death error state, Nostalgic Windows click sounds
