Partial A saturation plugin can be scaffolded with JUCE using AI help, but good-sounding tube and tape models require serious DSP expertise, and AAX and macOS signing add real friction.
What it would actually take: Build in C++ with JUCE, with the saturation modeled through waveshaping, oversampling, and filter networks, and tested with real hardware captures or reference circuits. The hard parts are convincing analog-style modeling, real-time performance tuning, and the Avid AAX SDK and Apple notarization pipeline, which need DSP and plugin-platform expertise.
