Members of Congress disclose their stock trades, but the data sits in PDFs, and meaningful analysis is often locked behind paywalls. Explore disclosures and rankings from the past year with a free Congress Trades account, and see who actually has alpha: how much each member made and what you’d have made copying them, both measured apples-to-apples against the S&P 500 over the same time period. Find out who files on time and who files late.

Could you build this?

Partial The UI and ranking pages are vibe-codeable. The hard part is reliably parsing messy congressional disclosure PDFs (many handwritten or scanned) and matching them to historical stock prices for return calculations.

What it would actually take: Build a scheduled ingestion pipeline that pulls House and Senate disclosure filings, extracts transactions with OCR and layout-aware PDF parsing, and normalizes tickers and dates. You also need a licensed or reliable historical price feed and a QA process for parsing errors. Data engineering skill is needed to keep it accurate over time.
