Partial The desktop UI, library, and translation workflow are vibe-codeable, but preserving the exact layout of arbitrary PDFs (formulas, figures, tables, columns) is a hard document-parsing problem.
What it would actually take: Build a Electron, Tauri, or native app around a local LLM runtime such as llama.cpp or Ollama with open translation models. The hard part is layout analysis: detecting columns, formulas, and figures, then re-rendering a translated PDF aligned page by page. This needs PDF internals knowledge, ML-based layout detection, and a lot of testing across real papers.
