WordPress powers a huge share of the web, but it still runs on a stack many teams do not want to maintain: PHP. This results in vulnerable and slower websites. NextPress keeps what works (pages, posts, media, blocks, SEO, a WordPress-compatible REST API) and rebuilds it on a modern JavaScript stack: Node.js, a React admin, and fast server-rendered pages. Get a clean codebase your team can actually extend in TypeScript.

Partial A core CMS (pages, posts, media, REST API) is vibe-codeable, but matching WordPress's plugin, block, and theme ecosystem at compatibility level is a massive, deep engineering effort.
What it would actually take: The core is a Node/TypeScript app with a relational database, an admin UI, and a REST layer shaped to match WordPress's API. True compatibility means reproducing WordPress's hook system, block format, and enough of its behavior that existing plugins and themes run. That requires a team with deep CMS and WordPress internals knowledge plus extensive compatibility testing.
