Could you build this?

Partial A Chrome extension that syncs playback and adds chat is buildable with content scripts and a sync server. Voice and video calls can use existing SDKs, but cross-platform sync on DRM-protected services like Netflix and Crunchyroll is fragile and runs against platform terms.

What it would actually take: Architecture would be a Manifest V3 extension, a WebSocket sync and chat backend, and WebRTC calls through a provider such as LiveKit or Agora. The hard parts are reliable playback sync on DRM players that change often and legal or ToS risk, plus real-time media costs at scale.
