What it would actually take: The stack would be a Rust storage engine with a B-tree or LSM layer, a write-ahead log, MVCC or locking, a SQL parser and query planner, and file-format compatibility. Proving parity requires running SQLite's extensive test suite and fuzzing. It needs experienced database engineers and benchmarking infrastructure.
