Read the full description

Islet turns your Mac's notch into a tool built for developers. It changes with the app you're in: AI commit messages and git status in VS Code, localhost to your phone (or a public link) in Chrome, and `islet run` alerts in Terminal. When Claude Code or Codex needs your approval, a hand pops up in the notch with a chime. You also get PRs with CI status, ports and your Claude usage at a glance. Music, meetings, timer and AirDrop too. ~25 MB, 0% idle CPU, no account, free.

Could you build this?

Partial A native macOS notch UI with app-specific panels and a Terminal hook is buildable in Swift with AI help. Reliable notch window behavior, Claude Code/Codex approval hooks, and public tunnels to phones add system-level and infrastructure work.

What it would actually take: Build a SwiftUI/AppKit app with a borderless window anchored to the notch area and per-app context detection via Accessibility or NSWorkspace. Integrations use editor extensions, a local CLI, and hook APIs from the agent tools. The public-link feature needs a relay server or tunnel service, and the notch behavior needs macOS-specific tuning.
